The room is located in Concourse C, beyond the security checkpoint. The handicap accessible suite has lockable door and a power outlet for mothers who need to plug-in a breast pump.

Lacy Lueck, the airport’s marketing director, said PBIA is the only airport in South Florida to provide a private suite for nursing mothers.

“We do have families who travel through here,” Lueck said. “There wasn’t a place for pumping and nursing specifically. That was our goal. To provide a private and clean space for traveling moms.”

The suite opened early this month. Lueck said the airport is looking to add a second nursing area in the coming months.
