Bonefish Grill to close 14 locations

Tampa-based Bloomin’ Brands announced Wednesday that it plans to close 14 of its Bonefish Grill restaurants as part of a restructuring effort.

The company did not disclose the locations of the restaurants that will be closed. Bonefish Grill has more than 200 locations across the country.

Bloomin’ Brands, which also owns Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Outback Steakhouse and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, announced the closures during an earnings report on Wednesday.

“We expect the majority of these restaurants to close in 2016,” the company said in its fourth quarter earnings report for 2015. “In connection with these closures, the Company incurred pre-tax asset impairments of approximately $24.2 million during the thirteen weeks ended December 27, 2015.”

In Palm Beach County, Bonefish Grill has locations in Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, Boynton Beach and Boca Raton.
