Palm Beach County’s hospitality industry is working with school district officials to help raise money to train its future workforce.
The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s Palm Beach County chapter will hold a culinary, music and arts-themed fundraiser on April 19 at the Marriott West Palm Beach. It runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event, dubbed FRLA E.A.T.S. ( an acronym for Education & Arts Together Showcase), is part of the organization’s program to promote tourism and hospitality education in area schools.
Palm Beach County students at area high schools will team up with local artists to create artwork that will be sold at a silent auction during the event, organizers said.
Students will work also with local chefs to create the dinner that will be served at the fundraiser.
Palm Beach Symphony musicians will mentor the students who will perform during the showcase, according to FRLA officials.
