Law allowing Brightline to sell alcohol signed by Gov. Rick Scott

Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday signed a wide-ranging alcohol bill into law that would allow All Aboard Florida’s Brightline service to sell alcohol on its trains.

The bill, SB 698, allows alcohol licenses to the owners of railroad stations used for passenger service between two or more cities.

The legislation was pushed by Brightline, which will soon provide All Aboard Florida passenger rail service from Orlando to Miami, with stops in Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
