Black Friday 2016: When will the Walmart, Macy’s, Target and Best Buy ads be leaked

Black Friday is more than a month away, but deal experts predict the first major shopping advertisement will be leaked long before you polish off your Halloween candy.

The website BestBlackFriday.com predicts Macy’s will be the first major retailer to see its Black Friday advertisement released.  The Macy’s Black Friday ad is expected to be leaked around Oct. 28, according to Phillip Dengler of BestBlackFriday.com.

Black Friday advertisements for four other major retailers – Walmart, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Target – are expected to be released during the first two weeks of November, according to BestBlackFriday.com.

BestBlackFriday.com predicts you’ll see those ads leaked according to this schedule:

Kohl’s – November 7

Target – November 8

Best Buy – November 9

Walmart – November 10

Harbor Freight’s Black Friday ad  was the first to be released this year. The 8-page ad was posted on several Black Friday shopping websites this week.

“In order to come up with the predictions, we analyzed all of the ad scan leak dates for the stores since 2012,” Dengler said. “We also took into account that Black Friday is a bit earlier this year, so we think everything will be slightly earlier this year.”

Dengler said shoppers can also expect to find more doorbuster deals available on retailers’ websites the night before Thanksgiving.

“We think it is going to be much more common this year for online sales,” Dengler said. “Many of Walmart’s online doorbusters went live last year on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and we think stores are going to continue to start earlier.”
