Holiday shopping: Non-profit helps clients sell handmade gift items

If you are looking for a gift that gives back this holiday season, consider Art d’Arc — a new gallery run by The Arc of Palm Beach County that features artwork made by the non-profit’s clients.

The Arc, which provides services for people with developmental disabilities and their families, opened the Art d’Arc Gallery about a month ago. It features framed, original artwork, mosaics, ornaments and other gift items. Each piece of artwork is signed by the client and items start at $10.

The artisan earns commission for every item sold at the gallery. They also learn how to market their artwork, speak to customers, understand currency, and handle small, financial transactions.

The gallery is located at The Arc’s Courim Center in Riviera Beach.
