Subway announced this week that it will be giving out free breakfast sandwiches during the entire month of May — but there is a catch.
To qualify for the free deal, customers are required to purchase a sub for lunch, AND they have to complete their order before 9 a.m.
Under the buy-one-get-one offer, customers who purchase any sub (6 inch or footlong) before 9 a.m. will receive a free 6-inch breakfast sandwich.
“Everyone knows the importance of breakfast to help fuel their day, that’s why this May we want to make your morning even better by offering a free Subway breakfast as a reward for enjoying any of our millions of fresh, handcrafted sandwich combinations,” said Chris Martone, executive chef for the Subway brand. “Our robust breakfast menu has something for everyone – whether you’re in a rush, on-the-go, or sitting down for your first meal of the day.”
The “Pancakes with Purpose” promotion runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today (March 8) at participating restaurant. Guests will receive one free short stack of Buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals or other designated local charities.
IHOP hopes to raise $3.5 million for charity this year. This is the eleventh annual National Pancake Day.
The national restaurant chain will also host a Pizza Party on Feb. 29 in Anthony, Texas, which is known as the “Leap Year Capital of the World.” Since 1988, the town has hosted a birthday festival each Leap Year for people born on Feb. 29.
This year, Pizza Hut plans to offer those at the town’s annual birthday party parade the choice of a free cheese or pepperoni Personal Pan Pizza.
“Pizza Hut has been the site of many, many birthday parties through the years, and since Leaplings only get to celebrate their true birthdays every four years, we wanted to make their day special and help them honor their birthdays in a big way,” said Doug Terfehr, senior director of public relations, Pizza Hut. “To mark the day in an even bigger way, we felt it was only fitting that we bring a pizza party to the Leap Year Capital of the World. We’re excited to spend our extra day in 2016 celebrating the best way we know how: with great-tasting, flavorful Pizza Hut pizza.”
For those not born on Feb. 29, Pizza Hut has a deal for you too. The company points to its $5 Flavor Menu. Pizza Hut said the menu features “a medium one-topping pizza, eight bone-out WingStreet Wings, the Ultimate HERSHEY’S Chocolate Chip Cookie, HERSHEY’S Triple Chocolate Brownie, Tuscani Pasta, a double order of breadsticks or flavor sticks and four 20-oz. Pepsi beverages for just $5 each when ordering two or more.”

“National Random Acts of Kindness Day is an ideal opportunity for Boynton Beach Mall to show appreciation to shoppers and to encourage thoughtfulness and charity in the community,” said Poonam Patel, director of marketing and business development at Boynton Beach Mall. “We’re looking forward to spreading smiles throughout the day and encouraging others to pay the kindness forward.”
In addition to surprising shoppers, Boynton Beach Mall management will also be treating its retailers to sweet treats and coffee, officials said.
