Larry Flynt to appear at Hustler Hollywood’s grand opening near West Palm Beach

Hustler Hollywood, an adult-only boutique for the “sexually curious,” has opened its third Florida store in suburban West Palm Beach, and the brand’s chairman Larry Flynt is set to make a special appearance at the location this month.

Flynt will be signing autographs, taking pictures with fans and “talent scouting West Palm Beach’s finest,” according to the chain’s website.

The grand opening is set for 6 p.m. on Feb. 11. The store is located at 2041 Zip Code Place, near the corner of Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail.

The the first 50 people through the doors each receiving a special gift bag, the chain said. There will also be  food, drinks, giveaways and prizes.

“After all of these years, it is wonderful to be back in West Palm Beach,” Flynt said in a statement released by the company. “I have always loved this area of the country, and I am looking forward to being a part of this great community once again.”

Hustler Hollywood has 22 stores across the country, including Fort Lauderdale and St. Augustine. The first store opened in 1998 on California’s famed Sunset Strip.

The Palm Beach County location opened its doors on Jan. 28

The stores have faced opposition in other parts of the country.

Last month, Hustler Hollywood filed suit against the city of Indianapolis after its request to open a new store was turned down by local leaders, according to WRTV. The site was near a Chuck-E-Cheese’s location, the news station reported.

The company also faced criticism from parents when it opened its San Jose, Calif store last year, according to nbcbayarea.com.

In a news release announcing the opening of the Palm Beach County store, the chain said the “boutique will provide a sophisticated shopping experience for the sexually curious and will carry something for everyone.”

 

Grand opening for PBIA’s travel plaza to be held this week

A grand opening ceremony will be held Thursday for the travel plaza on the outskirts of the Palm Beach International Airport.

The plaza is aimed at making the cellphone-waiting area more enticing. In addition to parking space for waiting cars, the travel plaza will also have a gas station, convenience store and Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-through. PBIA TRAVEL PLAZA

The project, which was expected to open last year, has been delayed because of permitting issues.

The convenience store building will offer wireless internet for those waiting on passengers and real-time flight information boards similar to those displayed inside PBIA’s main terminal.

The plaza will have access off Belvedere Road, access to the airport roads leading to the terminal and to PBIA’s direct-connect ramps to and from Interstate 95.

The Fresh Market will open its newest Palm Beach County location next week, and the grocery chain is planning a series of giveaways and freebies to mark the occasion.

On Jan. 11, the specialty grocer will open its store at 5540 North Military Trail in Boca Raton. The grand opening festivities start at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continue through Jan. 22.

The store marks the company’s third in Boca Raton and the 43rd in the state.

The Fresh Market is one of several new businesses coming to Boca Raton

The Fresh Market is one of several stores set to open in a new retail  development on Military Trail in Boca Raton.

The food market will open on Jan. 11 in a 20,000-square-foot space at the new Park Place development, a five-building retail development on Military Trail between Yamato Road and Clint Moore Road.

Several businesses, including Rappy’s Deli, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Eileen Fisher, a women’s clothing store, have already opened in the new development.

The Habit Burger is expected to open on Dec. 21, while PheNOMeNOM Nitrogen Ice Cream, Sprint, Raw Juice, The Cheese Course and The Fresh Kitchen are expected to open next month. Venetian Nail Spa is set to open in February, followed by Burtons Grill & Bar in April/May.

According to the project’s developer, more than 80 percent of the space in the 64,000-square-foot center has already been leased.

The retail project was developed by Schmier & Feurring Properties, Inc., a Boca Raton based real estate development firm.

 

Microsoft to celebrate grand opening in Boca Raton with gift card giveaways

The Microsoft Store will celebrate the opening of its new location at Town Center at Boca Raton with a gift card giveaway.

The new store will officially open its doors at 11 a.m. on Nov. 3. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The first 500 customers in line at the ribbon cutting ceremony will receive a gift card to the Microsoft Store with a surprise amount ranging from $10 to $1,000, according to a press release announcing the opening.

More than 100 of the customers in line will receive a card to the Microsoft Store worth at least $100 or more, the announcement said. One lucky customer will get a $1,000 gift card.

In addition, the first 200 customers in line will receive a ticket to meet retired Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino  from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. For more details, please visit the Microsoft Store Facebook page.

Dick’s Sporting Goods plans giveaways for grand opening of Boca store

Dick’s Sporting Goods will hold a three-day grand opening celebration this month for its new Boca Raton store in Mission Bay Plaza on State Road 7.

The celebration starts on Oct. 28 and runs through Oct. 30. The store at 20429 South State Road 7 will open at 8 a.m. on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 30.

The first 100 people in line on Oct. 28 will receive a free Adidas Go-To Performance T-Shirt. Adults who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 28 will get a chance to open the Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Locker.

Giveaways on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 include a free “Mystery Gift Card” for the first 100 adults in line. Adults who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 29 and 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 30 will also get a chance to open the Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Locker.

Former NFL defensive end and linebacker Jason Taylor will make an in-store appearance from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 30. Wristband are required for autographs. Wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of event only and quantities are limited, the chain said.

TooJay’s to celebrate West Palm Beach grand opening with gift card giveaway

TooJay’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new location at the Palm Beach Outlets  this month, and the first 50 people in line will get a free gift card and tumbler when the doors open.

The restaurant, located at 1721 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The first 50 people in line at that time will receive a $25 gift card and a free tumbler.

The chain, known for its deli-style sandwiches and handmade desserts and bite-size pastries, has nearly 30 restaurants throughout Florida.

 

 

 

Wawa opens its doors in Stuart

Wawa is now serving up its hoagies and specialty beverages at in Stuart.

The company opened its first Martin County location today, WPTV reported. The new location is the closest Wawa to Palm Beach County, and marks the company’s continued expansion in the South Florida area.

Wawa, a family-owned chain of convenience stores known for its fanatical following, announced in 2015 that it plans to open dozens of stores in Palm Beach and Broward counties.

In July, the company broke ground on a planned West Palm Beach location at the corner of Belvedere Road and Australian Avenue.

Wawa has also received approvals to build stores in Greenacres at the southwest corner of Lake Worth and South Jog Roads; in Palm Springs at the northeast corner of Lake Worth Road and Congress Avenue; and in Riviera Beach, at Blue Heron Boulevard and Garden Road.

 

 

 

WPB Dunkin’ Donuts donates part of opening day sales to police group

The owner of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach has donated $325 from its grand opening sales to the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association. img_1503

Franchisee Joe Sousa had pledged 10 percent of the opening sales to the association. Sousa presented a check to PBA President John Kazanjian on Tuesday.

The store, located at 2087 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, opened last month.

New furniture store set to break ground in Boca Raton

The Fort Myers-based company plans to break ground on Sept. 6 on a new 30,000-square-foot showroom at 1353 North Federal Highway.

The two-story showroom, which is slated to open next spring, will be the fifth location for the upscale furniture retailer.

“We are thrilled to be opening in Boca Raton,” Steve Lush, the company’s president said. ” It is an upscale and vibrant market that we feel is a perfect fit with our high-end home furnishings and interior design concept.  All of us at Robb & Stucky are looking forward to being involved in the Boca community.”

In 2011, Robb & Stucky liquidated its inventory after it filed for Chapter 11 protection following the housing market crash. Robb & Stucky had roughly 20 stores in Florida, Texas, Arizona and Nevada. It had Palm Beach County locations in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park and in Palm Beach Gardens.

A new Robb & Stucky was formed when the family of Samuel Kuo, founder and CEO of Samson Holding Ltd. purchased the brand and intellectual properties in 2011. The new company opened its first showroom in Fort Myers in 2012. The chain also has locations in Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Coral Gables.
